Join us at CFI West for a very special Sunday Assembly as we celebrate twelve years of community, curiosity, and connection. We’ll be joined by Deborah Bird as our main speaker, and she’s bringing mammal skulls for an unforgettable talk on the wonders of the natural world. Jeff Sargeant will be “Trying His Best,” and Paul Svenson is coming up from San Diego to lead us in song. After the program, stay for a Potluck Brunch and Fundraising Cook-Off in the lobby. The brunch is free for everyone to enjoy. If you’d like to take part in the cook-off, you can vote for your favorite dish by purchasing tickets — one ticket equals one dollar equals one vote. All proceeds will directly support our Food Distribution on the 21st.
As we celebrate turning twelve, we’re also remembering those who are struggling to make ends meet. With the loss of partial SNAP benefits, food insecurity continues to rise across Los Angeles. We’re collecting non-perishable food items for the Atheists United/LA Food Bank drive to help fill the gap.
It’s going to be a day of good food, great company, and collective care. Bring a dish for the Cook-Off, a donation for the Food Drive, and your best appetite for community.
We’ll also be hosting this Assembly live on Zoom for those joining from home. Reserve your spot!
