For the first time, the York Chapter of Not One More has a home. Occupying the first floor of 1337 East Market Street - a building with quite a history - has given us the opportunity to create welcoming spaces for our support groups. We have a youthful, fun room for Fences and Bridges, which offers youth ages 7-15 who have been affected by addiction a place to gather and just be kids. C.A.R.E.S., the first group we created, meets in the comfort of the living room, where members who love someone who struggles/has struggled with addiction lift each other through words of hope and encouragement.
The Not One More Family Center also provides space for us to offer to other groups for meetings. We have a room full of round tables next to a coffee bar and snack station that is perfect for such gatherings.
And finally, we have offices for our operations, a room dedicated to T-shirt storage, WiFi and televisions equipped for sharing helpful recovery programs.
Some of you may remember the building at 1337 as a former funeral home or the location for the Mish Mash consignment shop. We have worked hard to improve the facility inside and out, and we hope you will join us as we unveil it to the people of York County and beyond. Join us on Dec. 6 as we open our doors for a holiday gathering of friends.
