Northern Streams is a festival celebrating vibrancy and heritage of Nordic & Scottish Music, Song & Dance taking place 26-28 April 2024 - www.northernstreams.org

We have invited the following artists to this year’s festival in its 19th (+2) year:

• Erin Mungall-Baldvinsdottir with Evie Alberti, Becka Gauld and Ben Shanks
• Brian Ó hEadhra & Fionnag NicChoinnich with Órla Ní Eadhra and Ró Ó hEadhra
• Sir-Reel Clarks featuring North East Champion - Aaron Clark
• Miguel Girão & Amy Laurenson* (*BBC Radio Scotland Young Traditional Musician of the Year 2023 Winner)

The artists are all based in Scotland but with backgrounds and repertoire from Iceland, Finland, Sweden, Denmark, Norway, Shetland, North East Scotland, Scots and Gaelic!

2.00-5.00pm Open Music & Song Session Come and play, sing, maybe dance or simply enjoy – FREE entry! In the Pentland Room at The Pleasance.

(*NB: If venue capacity is reached we may have to restrict entry. Donations are welcome to help cover the room hire costs)

Brian Ó hEadhra & Fionnag NicChoinnich with Órla Ní Eadhra and Ró Ó hEadhra (BFÓR) + Erin Mungall-Baldvinsdottir with Evie Alberti, Becka Gauld and Ben Shanks. Featuring Nordic and Scottish music and song from talented artists based in Scotland, including from Gaelic, Icelandic and Finnish cultures.

Saturday 27 April
Workshops:

11am-12.15pm North Atlantic Songs

12.30-1.45pm Icelandic/Finnish Songs

2.00 – 3.15pm Tunes from the Wedding Traditions of Shetland

3.30 – 4.45pm North East Scotland Tunes

7.00pm Evening Concert
