About this Event
Northern Exposure 2026 is set for Friday, April 10 & Saturday, April 11 at the University of Minnesota's Hubbard School of Journalism and Mass Communication in Murphy Hall on the East Bank.
Northern Exposure is an anything-but-the-same-old conference to talk photography, video and storytelling. The news is unrelenting, staffs are shrinking and freelancers may lack support. Yet photojournalists play a critical role in how we receive news about our communities, good and bad — unrest, safety, social justice and more. It hasn’t always been easy lately, but it’s always important. Let’s gather to learn from each other, inspire each other and build relationships!
Schedule
Join us on Friday morning for a student-focused program (everyone is welcome to attend) followed by general sessions and a keynote speaker in the afternoon followed by a Friday night get-together. On Saturday there will be more keynote speakers and breakout sessions with dinner on your own.
A light breakfast and lunch is provided on Friday and Saturday and is included in your registration.
We are hosting a photo contest alongside the conference. For more information, visit the photo contest registration page.
