Join us over June as we mark over 200 years of railway history in North Shields.North Shields by Rail is an exhibition exploring how the railways in and around the area developed from early waggonways to Tyne and Wear Metro today. We’ll look at North Shields first passenger service, opened in 1839, and explore how this line survives today as part of the Metro system.
