About this Event

I can't believe this is our 6th event!

We look forward to welcoming y'all back for more NLD sweetness on the 6th May 2023 - and yes, we're continuing to donate all profits to the St Mary's Community Centre in London N16.

NLD 6 is a self supported event, over a newly created 70 mile / 110 km route running out of North East London.

Riders will start the day with a fresh brew from the legendary Workshop Coffee, enjoy a unique all surfaces loop - then finish with Magic Rock Brewing beer and swag from our partners back at the centre.

Pas Normal Studios are returning as headline partners and are coming over from Copenhagen to show off their amazing riding kit (and bringing one-off PNS x NLD printed musettes for finishers).

POC Protection, Fairlight bikes and Brooks are also joining us on the day with kit you can geek out on. Outdoor Provisions are back and bringing their yummy natural energy bars to fuel riders and Quoc shoes are joining us to provide the drinks station... And we're delighted to also announce Magic Rock are also returning for that all important post-ride beverage. We also want to thank Gravel Union for their continued support of the event and community centre. Thank you, thank you, thank you guys!

One of the reasons Phil and I live in London is because of the diverse community that surrounds us. We want to see this inspiring mix of people reflected in the riders we see out on the road and trails too. Through R4U and Steezy we're reaching out further to spread our message that we want to welcome riders from a wide range of backgrounds to experience the joy of North London Dirt. So, accordingly we have set aside ring-fenced tickets for these riders.

Ride For Unity is a global community that celebrates our unity and diversity as cyclists. @ride4unity. The Steezy Collective operates as a network for women and non-binary riders of various disciplines and skill levels. @steezycollective

We are proud that North London Dirt is an event that welcomes EVERYONE.

Our community partners will be leading group rides on the day, so if you want to be part of their crew... just sign up! Details to follow...

North London Dirt is again raising funds for the New St Mary's Centre in Stoke Newington N16 (a centre that houses, amongst other things, the Second Chance cafe, the Hackney Migrant Centre and the local food bank). Some details here: stmaryscentren16.org.

We've decided on a STRICT no-refunds policy for this event. As it's a fundraiser, we'd hope that people not making it on the day will be happy to sit back and feel good about making a donation either way... leaving that money in the pot for the centre.

Right, bike stuff!

You should ride a bike with tyres suitable off-road riding - bearing in mind you'd be pushing it a bit with slick narrow tyres on some of the mud/dirt/whatever. We were happiest on over 32mm gravel or 'cross tyres with a bit of tread.

You will need to be totally self-supported, riding with everything you need to finish a ride of this length. We'd suggest carrying two spare tubes and regular tool kit.

We will send out a .gpx and .tcx file a few days before the event to ticket holders, so you'll have time to load-up a GPS(there will be no signage so some kind of GPS / phone for navigation is ESSENTIAL).

DISCLAIMER! This is the bit where we say: We, the organisers have no responsibility for riders or their bikes in any way on this event.

Good riding, good coffee, good beer, good vibes... AND you're doing your bit for charity. Gravel for good!

See you from 6.30am for a start from 7am. SATURDAY 6 May 2023.
