Second Saturday of the Month is Sew Day for the North East Modern Quilt Guild !

Bring whatever project you are working on (hand or machine sewing)- we always like to see what people are working on! You don’t have to come for the full day and feel free if you just want to pop in to see what we are up to.

We love meeting new people and hearing about their quilting journey. Whether you are a beginner or professional we welcome you to our group and very much look forward to meeting you.

You'll need to bring your own packed lunches and if you have a lidded cup it's useful to bring along. Kitchen facilities are normally available and we will provide milk, but you will need to bring along your own tea/coffee supplies.

We suggest bringing your own equipment if you can, but we provide extension leads, iron and a cutting mat. We do have a group sewing machine that can be used by anyone attending who doesn't have one or can't transport their own.

Meeting fees are £5.00 for non members, payable in cash on the day, but if it's your first time, you can come along for free. It's optional whether you join as a member going forwards, but if you do decide to join, annual membership fees are £40 per year. This covers all our monthly Shipley meetings in person, our weekly online meetings on a Monday and access to members only events/discounts.

There are free parking spaces on the street opposite and around the corner from the Shipley Art Gallery, but if you need to drop any equipment off before you park, there is a couple of short stay spaces directly in front of the Gallery. If you need any help with carrying your bags, please let us know and we'll be happy to help!

The North East Modern Quilt Guild started up in May 2015 and continues to welcome new people as we continue to grow our community group year on year at our home in the Creator Space of the Shipley Art Gallery.
