North Adams Draws uninstructed drop-in studio session welcomes artists of every skill level—from absolute beginners to seasoned professionals—to practice capturing likeness, proportions, and dramatic lighting at their own pace. No formal instruction or critique is provided, offering a completely pressure-free environment to develop your personal style.The model holds one fixed portrait pose for the duration of the session, divided into 20-minute segments with short stretch breaks. And one 10-15 minute long break in the middle.
Artists must bring their own sketching materials and paper. Graphite pencils, charcoal, conté crayons, colored pencils, ballpoint pens, and mess-free sketchbooks will work best.
As for now there will be no ability to paint with oils. We are in the process of figuring out ventilation and disposal with the hope that in the future oils would be allowed.

$15 - Members
$20 - Non Members
Session fees help to pay for the models and contribute to the event space.
