Our “First Time Tourers” and “Seasoned Tourers” Normandy trips are suitable for people who have never been on a motorcycle tour or who want an easier day and those who prefer longer or more challenging rides. Both trips are also suitable for both solo riders and pillions. The riding is tailored to the group, we will stay as a group, no one gets left behind and no one is expected to ride out of their comfort zone. With 2 guide riders we can cater for all.The tour is based on a 6 night/5 day trip to Normandy France, leaving from and returning to Portsmouth. Whilst the focus is on safe motorcycle riding under the watchful eye of an advanced instructor (with input if you desire), the tour also focuses on many of the local attractions e.g., beaches, significant events, Pegasus Bridge, Maisy battery.
Price includes return ferry crossing for bike and rider, shared ferry cabin inbound and outbound, 4 nights B&B in a traditional French farmhouse (shared rooms) and the use of a local tour guide.
The itinerary will be loosely based on the following:
Day 1, overnight ferry to St Malo then a leisurely ride along the spectacular coast road, passing such places as Mont St Michel, Genet, Jullouville and Granville to reach the B&B accommodation.
Day 2, taking in some of the sights around the American landing sites with a local guide.
Day 3, a day of rest which will also have options to visit various local places, dependent on weather.
Day 4, taking in some of the sights around the Canadian and British landing sites with a local guide.
Day 5, taking in some more of the sights around the Canadian and British landing sites, including Pegasus Bridge with a local guide. Finishing off by heading to the overnight ferry from Caen to Portsmouth.
