The Norman Neighbors Project, powered through the Neighborhood Alliance of Central Oklahoma, will partner with City of Norman staff to host two “Norman in the Know” events from 6 p.m. - 7:30 p.m. on April 7 and April 21. The free events will take place at the Development Center, 225 N. Webster, and provide community members opportunities for one-on-one discussions with City of Norman leadership.Management from various City departments, as well as elected officials, will be available to share vital information and answer questions through roundtable discussion with Normanites. The April 7 event will focus on public safety, while the April 21 event will be development-focused.
“We have had rewarding experiences with hosting these types of workshops in the past and are hopeful for two evenings of great turnout,” said Lisa Krieg, CDBG Grants Manager for the City of Norman. “We appreciate all opportunities to engage with the residents we serve.”
Popular items of discussion include: Tall grass and weeds, yard parking, abandoned structures, inoperable vehicles and loose animals. Representatives of City departments will be stationed around the Development Center and a 20-minute rotation schedule will ensure that citizens have an opportunity to visit with each department.
The Neighborhood Alliance of Central Oklahoma serves with a mission to create safe, healthy and attractive neighborhoods through Central Oklahoma. For more information, visit www.nacok.org.
