About this Event
This session will be delivered by the Scottish Gambling Education Hub, a Fast Forward project.
All gambling carries a risk of harm. Gambling harm can affect anyone. Gambling harm impacts the health and well-being of people, communities and society.
The Scottish Gambling Education Hub hold 'Special Topic webinars' to discuss gambling in connection with various other topics.
This 2 hour webinar available for a limited time only, is open to anyone working within youth services, family services or formal education in Scotland.
Due to the increasingly blurred lines between gaming and gambling, children and young people are being exposed to further risks and harms associated with gambling.
In this webinar, we will examine how gambling is being normalized for children and young people through their participation in arcades, highlighting the connections to gambling laws and regulations, the geographic distribution of such venues across the UK, and the nostalgic and cultural aspects of family entertainment centres.
We will also discuss how to talk about gambling and links to gaming with children, young people and share some resources with links to specialist support.
