The Copenhagen-based, classical choir Akademisk Kor (Academic Choir), with conductor Nenia Zenana, invites you to their Rome-concert under the headline ‘Nordic Summer’ at Accademia di Danimarca - Det Danske Institut i Rom.Audience can expect harmonies of joy, warmth, brightness, and yearning in this one-hour concert, dedicated to the Nordic summer and its long and bright summer nights.
Presenting a carefully selected bouquet of Danish songs, the choir will also perform songs in Swedish, Norwegian as well as in Latin, by composers Ola Gjeilo, Edvard Grieg, Evert Taube, Niels la Cour, Poul Schierbeck and others.
The 18 songs of the concert will leave you with images in your mind's eye of a summer night’s blue hour magic, of dewy meadows, shimmering seas, and bright beaches.

About the choir:
Akademisk Kor is a classical, mixed choir from Copenhagen, Denmark, founded in 1935, giving a cappella concerts a few times a year.
The choir is also part of the traditional ensemble ‘Akademisk Orkester og Kor’, performing major works for orchestra and chorus, such as oratorios and masses.
