Event Description:
Want to take your family or friends camping, but unsure where to start? NORD Outdoors and LOOP NOLA have got you covered! Register for our Family Campout for a night out under the stars with experienced camping professionals. Just bring the basics: sleeping bags, pillows and toiletries. We'll provide everything else: tents, sleeping pads, water, food, indoor plumbing and campfire-side fun. Gain confidence to take your family or friends on future camping trips!
Schedule
- Optional Early Arrival: 5:00 p.m. - 6:00 p.m.
- Arrival/Tent Selection: 6:00 p.m. – 6:30 p.m.
- Introduction/Mingling: 6:30 p.m. - 7:00 p.m.
- Dinner: 7:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m. (Includes prep, s’mores and cleanup)
- Camper Choice: 9:00 p.m. – 10:00 p.m. (Night hike or relaxing by fireside)
- Winding Down: 10:00 p.m. – 11:00 p.m.
- Lights Out: 11:00 p.m.
- Wake up, Eat Breakfast: 7:00 a.m. – 7:45 a.m.
- Pack up: 7:45 a.m. – 8:30 a.m. (Families are welcome to stay afterward and enjoy the park)

LOOP NOLA is a nonprofit organization whose mission is to provide positive, life-changing outdoor experiences for children and youth in Greater New Orleans. LOOP NOLA addresses the lack of opportunity for urban children to experience the outdoors. We nurture students' connections to nature by developing a sense of wonder at the natural world along with their social, technical and academic skills through repeated exposure to outdoor adventures over multiple years.
