WOUNDED
The) Wounded is a melancholic rock band from the Netherlands. Since 1998 they released six albums and played with bands like: Him, Within temptation, Paradise Lost, Tiamat and many more. Their atmospheric concerts are always an emotional happening. The universal stories they tell through their music creates a connection with the audience and made people follow the band for already many years. The release of the latest twin album "The Sky is (y)ours" is a new and fresh chapter in the musical history of the band. The band is ready to share their stories with the world.
SAD WHISPERINGS
Founded early nineties as Desecrate, the band played death metal with some doom influences. After the change in musical direction to atmospheric doom/death metal, heavily influenced by the greats like My Dying Bride, Anathema and Paradise Lost, the name was changed to the more suiting Sad Whisperings.
Their first demo landed them a record deal with Dutch label Foundation 2000, resulting in the full length CD ‘Sensitive to Autumn’ in 1993. After the recording of promo’s in 1995 and 1998 and some line-up changes, the band went on hiatus when Alexander moved to Argentina. After Alex’s return in 2002, the band was reformed with a fresh line-up that recorded their last promo so far in 2003. In 2005 Sad Whisperings was discontinued.
Fast forward to 2022. VIC Records showed interrest in re-issueing ‘Sensitive to Autumn’. This led to the reformation of the band and the actual re-release of their debut a year later. In addition, the band performed for the first time in almost 20 years on the ‘Dutch Doom Days’ in Baroeg, Rotterdam. In the same year ‘Return to Autumn’ was released by VIC Records, comprising the ’95 and ’98 promo recordings. Furthermore a chapter in the book ‘Streams of Ancient Wisdom’, written by Rocktribune journalist Steve Willems, was devoted to Sad Whisperings.
Currently the band is working on material for a new album and is ready to do shows and have a good time
WRITTEN IN BLOOD
Formed in 2019 by former members of God Dethroned and Mandator, Written in Blood is a death metal band with roots in the old-school sound in the style of Unleashed, Bolt Thrower and some Hypocrisy influences in the mix.
Soon after ex-Morte Aeterna and ex-Procreation members joined their forces. Written In Blood draws lyrical inspiration from myth, folklore and ancient history. These themes resonate in both their music and live performances, creating an atmospheric sound which is both recognizable and inviting.
The band recorded a demo in 2021 and signed with Germany’s TrollZorn Records in early 2022. Their self-titled debut album, released in December 2022, was well- received in the German metal scene.
Since their debut, Written in Blood have supported acts like Heathen, Toxik, and God Dethroned and have performed at festivals in the Netherlands, Germany and Belgium.
Now, Written in Blood is releasing new singles every two months, starting with "Flesh of the Dying" and "Black Dog", with more on the way as they prepare for their next album.
