LEXINGTON–Free live music in the heart of downtown Lexington this December–what’s a better way to spend your lunch hour? Hancock Church is pleased to announce the line-up for its 2025 Advent Noontime Concerts. The series takes place each Wednesday at noon starting Dec 3rd. The concerts are 30 minutes in length, and open to all.The series launches on Dec 3rd with the early music ensemble A Joyful Noyse. This ensemble of singers and instrumentalists will perform music for the season from the 17th century by Schein, Schmelzer, and Bernhard
December 10th brings us Light in the Snow: a concert of Women’s Voices for Advent
Ian Watson, director featuring music of the season by Edward Elgar, Elaine Hagenberg, Peter Warlock, John Rutter and more.
The series concludes on Dec 17th with the Essex Piano Trio. The Trio will perform Music to Warm your Soul: sweet musical tidbits by French and Russian composers of the late 19th and early 20th century, as well as some holiday treats from around the world.
These concerts are generously supported by the Creative Expressions program of the Massachusetts Cultural Council. The concerts are free and take place in Clark Hall at Hancock Church, 1912 Massachusetts Ave in Lexington. Free parking is available in the rear of the church. For those with disabilities, there is an elevator at the church’s Mass. Ave entrance. More details can be found at hancockchurch.org
