Nonprofit 101

Turn Your Passion Into a Professional, Compliant Nonprofit — In Just 3 Hours for Only $49
Nonprofit 101 is the essential starting point for anyone serious about launching a 501(c)(3) in Arkansas. No fluff. No wasted time. Just clear, battle-tested guidance from a 30-year nonprofit veteran.

You have a powerful idea to serve your community, veterans, youth, families, the environment, or something else entirely.

But good intentions aren’t enough.

Most new nonprofits fail not because the mission is weak, but because the founder skipped the critical foundational work: due diligence, legal compliance, board governance, and honest self-assessment.

Nonprofit 101 gives you the exact tools and knowledge to do it right — from day one.

In this interactive 3-hour session you will:

  • Complete the Pre-Course Founder Reflection Questionnaire and receive live peer + facilitator feedback on your idea
  • Score your concept with the official Go/No-Go Decision Tool (and walk out knowing whether you should proceed, partner, or pause)
  • Craft an IRS-compliant mission statement (25 words or less) that actually passes review
  • Learn the 3 IRS tests that K*ll most applications — and how to pass them
  • Understand Arkansas-specific formation steps (Articles of Incorporation, $50 filing fee, CR-01 registration, etc.)
  • Receive ready-to-use templates: Bylaws, Conflict of Interest Policy, Whistleblower Policy, Financial Controls, Volunteer Agreements, and more
  • Build your initial Organizational Blueprint — the foundation for grants, the Incubator program, and long-term success
  • Get clarity on board recruitment, fiduciary duties, ethical fundraising, and impact measurement

Bonus Value Added in 2026:

  • Digital Take-Home Kit (editable templates + fillable tools)
  • Live mission statement critique for every participant
  • 30-day follow-up check-in call with an RPNC coach
  • Shareable digital certificate + LinkedIn badge
  • Networking segment to meet potential board members or collaborators

Your Instructor: Jeff Watts, U.S. Army veteran, Founder & Executive Director of Rally Point Nonprofit Council brings his 30 years of experience to your new mission. Jeff has an extensive business background and led national veteran disaster response missions across the country and even climbed Mount Kilimanjaro in Africa. He brings real-world discipline to nonprofit governance.
