About this Event
This is a gentle, supportive space to talk openly about being a woman without children, however that's unfolded.
Whether through circumstance, choice, or a journey that changed over time, you may have found yourself navigating complex feelings about not being a mother.
Maybe there is grief.
Maybe it's relief.
And most likely, it’s a complicated and confusing range of emotions, beliefs and thoughts.
Becoming 'not a mum' in a society that assumes, as a woman, you will have children, can raise questions about identity, worth, and belonging. With a sense of being outside the 'norm' you may have found yourself met by others with judgment, unconscious bias, and confusion.
We rarely have the space to speak openly about these experiences, and so it's held silently inside. Unmet. Unheard. Unprocessed.
This small facilitated circle seeks to change that, and offers a compassionate space for women to share honestly, listen deeply, and be truly understood.
There is no expectation to have the “right” story about being a 'non-mum'. All experiences are unique, and all are welcome.
This circle is an opportunity to:
• Speak openly about your experience of being a woman without children
• Be heard in a non-judgemental, compassionate, supportive space
• Connect with other women navigating similar questions
• Explore identity, worth, grief, freedom, and possibility beyond the motherhood narrative.
The circle will be gently facilitated to ensure every woman who wishes to speak has the opportunity.
Contribution:
This is a trial event with an opportunity for regular gatherings to develop. Spaces are offered by voluntary donation. The suggested minimum donation is £5.
Please book a space in advance so numbers can be kept small enough for the space to be held safely.
About the Venue:
More than just a shop or café. Nature's Nook, in the heart of Margate, is a community space, founded by Anna, where nourishment meets well-being and sustainability is second nature.
Their philosophy is rooted in simplicity, guided by integrity, and inspired by the belief that small, intentional choices can lead to profound well-being.
About the Facilitator:
The circle will be facilitated by Carli Thorpe - the founder of Nonmumlife, a trauma-informed somatic coach, hypnotherapist and energy alignment mentor.
Nonmumlife was created from her own journey of navigating life without children and recognising how few spaces exist for women to talk openly about these experiences.
The intention of this space is simple:
To create compassionate, respectful conversations where women can explore this part of their lives without judgement.
