Join us for an evening of haunting beauty and literary mischief as the Nocturne Book Club gathers to read We Love You, Bunny by Mona Awad, the long-awaited return to the strange and seductive world of her cult classic, Bunny.
In Bunny, we met Samantha Heather Mackey, a lonely MFA student lured into the orbit of a clique of eerily sweet rich girls known as “the Bunnies.” What began as curiosity became obsession, and her descent into their surreal workshops blurred the line between art and monstrosity.
Now, in We Love You, Bunny, Samantha has published her first novel to critical acclaim — but when her former frenemies kidnap her during her New England book tour, it’s their turn to tell the story. Bound and silenced, Sam listens as each Bunny recounts their own dark genesis, their experiments in creation, and the twisted alchemy that first bound them together. What unfolds is part fairy tale, part slasher, a dazzling dark-academia fever dream about art, friendship, and the perilous magic of creation itself.
