Nocturne Book Club is truly excited to welcome our friend Matthew Venus to Salem for a special evening devoted to his book Ensouling the Effigy: The Witch’s Art of Inspirited Objects.
Hosting Matthew at Nocturne feels like welcoming a friend into our home. We have long admired his work, his depth of knowledge, and the care he brings to his craft. It is a joy to create space for this conversation inside our shop, surrounded by the books and community we love so much.
This will be an intimate and thoughtful gathering centered on animism, effigy magic, spirit craft, and the art of creating inspirited objects.
About the Book: Ensouling the Effigy

What to Expect at Nocturne Book Club
Matthew will speak about the writing of Ensouling the Effigy and the path that led him to create it.

Matthew will sign copies of the book during the evening, and copies will be available at Nocturne.
