The Great Pottery Throwdown: Led by Cult Leader KristenAll hail the wheel. 🔥
Join us for a wildly fun, slightly unhinged, skill-building series where our fearless (and possibly all-powerful) leader, Kristen, demonstrates one advanced pottery form and then releases you into the wild to attempt it yourself. Will you rise to greatness? Will your chalice collapse in dramatic fashion? Both are celebrated here.
Each session focuses on a higher-level wheel-thrown piece, designed to push your skills and stretch what you think you can do (literally and emotionally).
Upcoming Throwdowns Include:
Dramatic, domed cloches
Elegant (and slightly risky) cake stands
Goblin-core approved chalices
The ultimate test of patience: lidded jars
Kristen will kick things off with a live demo, sharing techniques, tips, and secrets from the pottery void. Then it’s your turn to throw, trim, and problem-solve your way to something amazing (or at least… structurally sound-ish).
This series is perfect for intermediate to advanced potters who are ready to level up, get a little weird, and embrace the chaos of learning. You should be able to center and throw a 2 lb piece to about 6 inches tall independently before signing up.
Here's where it gets interesting:
We’ll be filming portions of each class, capturing the process, the chaos, and the triumphs. By signing up, you’re agreeing to be part of the magic (and possibly the blooper reel).
After the final class, we’ll post a photo album on social media featuring your finished pieces. Friends, family, and fellow pottery gremlins can vote for their favorites; and the Fan Favorite wins a FREE 4-week class.
What to Expect:
Live demo + guided instruction
Hands-on throwing time
Equal parts skill-building and light-hearted competition
A studio full of laughter, mud, and questionable life choices
Come ready to try something new, fail gloriously, and maybe, JUST MAYBE, impress the Cult Leader. Your class registration provides clay, wheel time, and expert instruction. Wear clothes you can move well in and get dirty. This class will focus on upper-level skills and building your clay knowledge.
Anything you make in class will be bisque fired for free. Glaze firing is $.06/ cubic inch. Tickets are non-refundable and non-transferrable. These lessons are at NOBLESVILLE 60 N 9th st. The voting will be open for one week after class, it's strongly encouraged that you hype yourself and share the voting links! The winner will be the total likes across all social medias posted. The winner will receive a $165 gift card good for a 4-week class or any other classes we offer.
