No Surprises is a half-day Midwest music, comedy, and vendor showcase and $500 Spades tournament benefitting Care Beyond the Boulevard (CBB). Greater Kansas City’s un- and underinsured rely on the free, vital mobile healthcare services CBB provides.
Emceed by comedian Aaron Scarbrough, No Surprises is a spotlight on who’s next in the region’s stacked indie and alternative music scenes, featuring Social Cinema (LNK/ICT), Rat Tally (CHI), Grady Drugg (SGF), Hot Joy (STL), Brian Gerald Bulger (KC), Modeling (NWArk), and Teri Quinn & The Coyotes (KC).
In addition, a $500 Spades tournament is an homage to the season and gathering with friends and families and to the amounts of downtime touring bands have on the road while chasing it down. One skillful pair will walk away with some padding for the holidays. 6 rounds total. The first round starts at 5:50pm. Each round takes place after each band.

Located in the Westport neighborhood one of Kansas City’s premiere bar districts. Our venue is your venue, as we all gather to celebrate extraordinary experiences with the finest local, regional, and national artists the universe has to offer.
Our restaurant Sound Bite Social is open Wednesday-Saturday, 5p-1a. And Sunday-Tuesday during events. Entrance to the restaurant is located on the north side of the building, and is accessible without a show ticket, or with from inside the venue.
