After decades based on the East Rand while performing in eVOID, Petit Cheval, Electric Petals and Wonderboom, Danny de Wet is relocating to Durban and he says goodbye to Gauteng with a concert, make that 'extravaganza', on the the afternoon of the public holiday, Monday 27 April 2026 at the Emperors Palace Barnyard Theatre. A whole lot of talented friends are amped to join the celebration, in what promises to be an extremely memorable show - one that includes a special appearance by The Radio Rats... it's been ages since Dave Davies and Jonathan Handley rocked an East Rand stage together and this makes for a unique and legendary show.Nick Pasifakis and Greg Pentopolousof The Diamond Dogs are back in the house and brand new KZN singer\songwriter sensation Matthew Clement sets foot on 'Oos Rand' soil for the first time, joining Tim Parr (Baxtop/Ellamental), Paul Hodgson (The Parlotones), Tina Delacovias (Squeal/Shuttermouth) and Danny's CBC Boksburg, schoolfriend, Craig Topham (Jester).
The house band feaurures guitar wiz Damian Kruger and acclaimed East Rand bassist Justin Hart.
Behind the drum kit or upfront with the mic, Danny's concerts are renowned for soulful nostalgic moments, as he takes you back to the glory days of SA music via the songs in the iconic bands he was a part of... expect Shadows, Taximan, Sister Love, Africa, as well as classics like The Radio Rats' ZX Dan and Ellamental's (Come On Down and) See Yourself performed by orginal members of those venerated ensembles.
In flamboyant Saggittarian style, Danny bids his 'stomping ground' adieu by introducing East Rand rock fans to the new guard, with a POST CONCERT ROCK GIG - four kick-ass current bands make their Barnyard Theatre debut - three East Rand acts: Indie Dog, The Barcode Bandits and Lunae Lane, along with Parlotone Paul Hodgson's new group After Wonderland representing the West Rand.
