Alabama Rural Ministry (ARM) is a nonprofit dedicated to ending substandard housing in our state by restoring homes with volunteers who serve in the name of Jesus.ARM receives applications from homeowners who are living in conditions that are dangerous and/or unsustainable. These are our most vulnerable neighbors, like the elderly or single mothers. They have no means, financial or otherwise, to repair their homes. We believe safe, secure, comfortable housing leads to healthier lives. In our ministry at ARM, we focus on restoration: Restoring homes, restoring lives, and restoring relationships with God.
Each October, our executive director Lisa Pierce lives in “The Shack” for a week to raise awareness and funds for our mission. We set up the small building on the lawn of the Auburn Wesley Foundation, and this community-wide event is vital to our annual budget. We seek individual, church, and corporate sponsorship for our efforts. We invite you to join us in our mission.
