About this Event
In this 90-minute workshop you'll learn about Internal Family Systems, an evidenced-based model of psychotherapy centered on the concept of natural multiplicity. Originating 40 years ago from a family therapist, IFS has revolutionized the way trauma-informed therapy interventions are taught, reversing psychology's fixation with identifying, labeling, and eradicating so-called symptoms of mental illness.
Instead, IFS teaches that all of us have parts--subpersonalities--and these parts are really like little people living inside of us. We will discuss and practice how to develop a relationship to your parts based on curiosity, compassion, clarity.
Keith Miller, LICSW, has been a certified IFS psychotherapist for 15 years and is the founder and director of Calliope Health, a ketamine-assisted IFS therapy clinic in Bethesda, MD. Note this presentation will include meditative exercises and the opportunity to share your experiences, at your level of comfort, with both another member of the group and/or with the whole group. This is not a group therapy session ;-)
