NINA GARCIASince 2015, Nina Garcia has been researching and creating around the electric guitar, halfway between improvised music and noise. Her set up is reduced to a minimum: a guitar, a pedal, an amp with which she sculpts sound and delves into chaos to bring out the unheard-of. Her concerts draw audiences into an immersive sonic space where power and fragility intersect with communicative intensity.
In just a few years, she has attracted the attention of numerous international stages. Her solo work focuses on gesture and research into the instrument, its resonances, its limits, its extensions, its impurities, its audible corners: working with or against it, containing it or letting it sound, supporting it or assault it.
Following her 2018 self-titled Mariachi, Nina Garcia is now embarking on the creation of a second opus to be released on 21th of February 2025. Nina Garcia's Bye Bye Bird holds out the promise of music for everyone, as delicate as it is noisy and full of whisling memories.
ABLE NOISE
Able Noise is George and Alex’ experimental baritone guitar and drum duo, based between The Hague, the Netherlands and Athens, Greece. Through the use of voice, tape and alternative methods of playing their instruments, they create a minimal and visual musical performance. Their output is primarily focused on live concerts, letting their music be shaped by the physicality of their play-ing, the acoustic and aesthetic properties of the space, and the dynamics formed between themselves and their audience.
Their recorded work relies less on their respective instruments, and more on an assemblage of field recordings, heavily processed instrumentation, and exploratory mixing techniques. They released their debut on the Glasgow label GLARC in 2020, and their debut LP High Tide was released on the 1st of November 2024 through London label World of Echo.
