When the sun drops, the chaos begins. The Nightcrawler is the Rocky Mountain Rambler 500’s after-hours adventure — a nighttime trail run, campout, and all-out endurance test for the brave and the borderline insane. We’ll meet up in Colorado Springs at 5:00 PM before heading up the historic Gold Camp Road to our overnight campsite and tackling the trail under the stars. Expect a mix of dirt, rock, dust, and darkness — and a few surprises the mountain might throw in for good measure.
After setting up camp, we’ll be serving up chili, baked potatoes, and cornbread for dinner — the perfect fuel before a long night of crawling. When the sun rises and the engines cool, we’ll wrap it all up with a bacon breakfast burrito feast before heading out.
This isn’t about speed — it’s about survival, teamwork, and the stories you’ll tell around the fire when you finally roll back into camp. You’ll earn every mile, every dent, and every laugh.
Every registration includes dinner, breakfast, and a limited-edition long-sleeve glow-in-the-dark event shirt — because if you’re crazy enough to crawl through the night, you deserve to light it up while you do it.
And since it’s the Nightcrawler, we’re going all in on the glow. Light up your rig — and yourself — as bright as possible. We’re talking glow sticks, neon paint, glowing clothes, face paint, headlights, underglow… whatever you’ve got. The brighter, the better.
This is still a Rambler-style event, which means the cheaper the car, the better. Keep your build as budget-friendly and ridiculous as possible — that’s the spirit of the Rambler. That said, since Trail 379 is a little more technical, we’re opening the door to some “support-style” vehicles this time around. Basically… if it glows, it goes.
🕐 Registration closes April 1st — no exceptions.
Because we’re preparing food and limited-edition shirts, we have a strict cut-off date for entries. Exact meetup location, campsite, and route details will be emailed to registered participants after sign-up. If you’re not signed up by April 1st, we can’t guarantee dinner or a shirt — so don’t wait.
So grab your co-driver, pack your rig, and bring your sense of humor. Once the sun sets, the real Rambler spirit comes alive.
