About the musicians
Scott Stein is a Kensington-based pianist, songwriter, composer and music director. His plain-spoken vocal delivery calls to mind Paul Simon's everyman-poet while his piano chops have garnered comparisons to Bruce Hornsby and Elton John. His latest EP Uphill, released in 2022, was designed as a sort of song-cycle about grief, loss and ultimately coming out on the other side. In addition to his songwriting, Scott is a sought-after collaborator, accompanist and choral composer and conductor. www.scottsteinmusic.com
Maddy Wyatt is a Brooklyn-based singer, songwriter, and musician who released her first solo album, Backdive, in 2007, and gained national notoriety on the strength of her 2008 ode to Barack Obama, “Man for Me.” She kept her political streak, writing and performing for the ACLU and Planned Parenthood, alongside Nelly McKay, Kathleen Hanna, and The Mountain Goats. Maddy's solo efforts expanded into a collaborative adventure with brothers Paul and Alex in the indie pop outfit WYATT. Since the release of their debut EP, WYATT has toured the U.S., played festivals from CMJ to SXSW, and earned kudos from The Deli, The LA Examiner, and TimeOutNewYork, who says their “quirky, lilting and unpretentious songs pack a jaunty punch.” Their newest release, "Here Comes Everybody," is out now on MNRCH Records. Maddy's most recent work can be heard in the original score and songs for the film "Breaking Fast," an official selection of the Cannes Film Festival, now streaming across all platforms. www.maddywyatt.com
