Led by Ottawa-based trombonist and composer Nick Adema, the Standards Quartet brings a fresh, expressive approach to the classic jazz repertoire. Rooted in the tradition but shaped by a modern sensibility, the group explores well-loved standards with openness, interplay, and a strong sense of narrative.
Adema is joined by an exceptional rhythm section featuring pianist James Greer, bassist John Geggie, and drummer Jose Garcia—each a respected voice in the Canadian jazz community. Together, they draw on deep musical chemistry and a shared understanding of the language of jazz, creating performances that are both dynamic and nuanced.
