ABOUT NIA
Hailing from Tallahassee, Florida, violist Nia Morgan began her musical journey on guitar at age nine before transitioning to viola at ten through her elementary school string program. She is currently earning her bachelor’s degree here at Lynn, in the studio of Sheila Browne.
Nia has performed with ensembles including the Miami Symphony Orchestra and Symphony of the Americas, and was a prizewinner in the NOLA Chamber Music Festival and the Big Bend Young Artist Competition. During high school, she was a member of the Tallahassee Youth Orchestras and the Iris Quartet, which earned recognition at both the NOLA Chamber Music Festival and the Charleston International Music Competition.
She has participated in masterclasses with Pamela Ryan, Lauren Hodges, Eric Wong, and Jeffrey Irvine, and has attended prestigious festivals including the Sphinx Performance Academy, Green Mountain Chamber Music Festival, Encore Chamber Music Institute, and Hilton Head Chamber Music Institute. In 2023, Nia interned with the LAMP Chamber Players, mentoring young chamber musicians, and has been actively involved with Music Bridges Tallahassee, a nonprofit supporting equitable access to music education.
Outside of music, Nia enjoys puzzles, watching movies, and spending time in nature.
