Join us for an immersive Ngoni Building Workshop at The Slyboots School of Music, Art & Dance from November 15-17! Over this exciting three-day workshop, you’ll learn how to craft your own beautiful Ngoni, a traditional West African string instrument believed to be the ancestor of the banjo. Originating from the Mali Empire, the Ngoni has been played for centuries by griots, storytellers who preserve cultural history through music. From selecting and prepping gourds to stretching skins and tuning the final instrument, this hands-on experience is perfect for anyone looking to connect with music and woodworking.
