Yoga Book Club đź“šParticipants will read independently, and meet at the studio on the appointed date. Expect to spend up to 45 minutes breathing and moving through a yoga practice, themed around the subject of the book, followed by discussion and snacks. Our intention is to come together to reflect, grow together, and to cultivate community. There are no rules, no quizzes, and no judgment. The books we read are a launching pad; a starting point for meaningful discussion and connection.
Join us on Sunday, November 17th at 12:30pm (Buffalo Bills play at 4:30pm), where we will discuss Be Water, My Friend, by Shannon Lee.
Bruce Lee is a cultural icon, renowned the world over for his martial arts and film legacy. But Lee was also a deeply philosophical thinker, learning at an early age that martial arts are more than just an exercise in physical discipline-they are an apt metaphor for living a fully realized life. Lee’s daughter, Shannon, shares the concepts at the core of his philosophies, showing how they can serve as tools of personal growth and self-actualization. Each chapter brings a lesson from Bruce Lee’s teachings, expanding on the foundation of his iconic “be water” philosophy. Over the course of this book, we discover how being like water allows us to embody fluidity and naturalness in life, bringing us closer to our essential flowing nature and our ability to be powerful, self-expressed and free.
Be Water, My Friend, is available for purchase in-store or online at The Bookworm 34 Elm Street East Aurora (they offer 15% off in-store purchase, 10% off online. Shipping rates apply to all online orders)
Cost for Yoga Book Club is $15, and includes yoga practice and refreshments.
