Newton Fest returns for a free community celebration across two days and three main locations — Maytag Park, Legacy Plaza, and Downtown Newton.Whether you're looking for live music, family activities, or just a great reason to get outside, there's something for everyone. Most events are free and open to the public. Friday, June 12
Free community movie — The Goonies at the Capitol II at 10 a.m.; magic show with Jonathan May at the Newton Public Library at 1 p.m.; free community pool party at Maytag Pool from 7 to 9 p.m.
Saturday, June 13
Morning yoga at Maytag Bowl at 9:30 a.m.; downtown car show starting at 11 a.m.; Fun Zone with inflatables, rock climbing wall, and laser tag from noon to 4 p.m.; Safety Fest with the Fire and Police Departments from noon to 2 p.m.; mini train rides and mascot appearances from noon to 4 p.m.; jumbo yard games and food trucks from noon to 4 p.m.; free concert featuring Rhythmic Rewind at Maytag Bowl from 4 to 6 p.m.
