About this Event
For the third year in a row, the Global Kurdish Initiative for Peace at the School of International Service will host a reception celebrating Newroz and the Kurdish New Year. Enjoy an evening filled with Kurdish music, great food, and cultural festivities as we honor Newroz, a festival of renewal, hope, and solidarity. Feel free to wear your traditional clothing to help make the gathering even more colorful and lively.
Newroz celebrates the start of spring and happens at the same time as the spring equinox. Many cultures and ethnic groups across the Middle East and Central Asia value this holiday, which stands for renewal, unity, and the richness of different traditions.
We would love for you to join us and help make this celebration even more special as we enjoy our shared heritage and community. Come celebrate spring and experience Kurdish culture with us!
