About this Event
Presented in partnership with the Rhode Island League of Cities and Towns, this educational program for newly elected officials is designed to offer a foundation for effective governing by preparing attendees to understand their responsibilities as fiduciaries, decision-makers, and leaders in their respective communities. Program content will include information on:
- Transitioning from campaigning to governing
- Ethics and Conflicts of Interest
- Open Meetings Act (OMA)
- Access to Public Records Act (APRA)
- Managing risk
- Municipal budgets, and more
Located in the Plaza Ballroom at the Crowne Plaza Hotel. Continental breakfast and lunch will be provided. Deadline for registration is Wednesday, January 2, 2025. There is a $50 “NO SHOW” fee for anyone who registers but then fails to attend the training.
