Join the Newcomers Club of New Bern on Thursday, October 9, 7 p.m., at the Harrison Center, 311 Middle St., to learn more about the area's history and the New Bern Historical Society's contribution to preserving it. Anthony Giardino, executive director, will present information about the organization and the numerous events it sponsors throughout the year. Members and guests are encouraged to arrive at 6:45 p.m. and meet and mingle with other Newcomers.

The Newcomers Club of New Bern welcomes individuals who have moved to the New Bern area in the past two years and are interested in finding a unique and fun way to make new friends and transition into this amazing and active community.
As a small nonprofit organization, this busy club offers over 200 opportunities a year to connect with other Newcomers and community leaders and learn about local resources, culture and history, and recreational pursuits. Members participate in our monthly meetings, annual socials such as the Holiday Party and Spring Fling, monthly casual meet-and-greets, and at least 20 activity groups.
