Ploughing Match Post. We are pleased to announce that we are hosting our Annual Ploughing Match on Sunday 16th February 2025!
Newborough Young Farmers will be hosting the Annual Ploughing Match on Sunday 16th February 2025, with the first plough starting at 9.30am, and this will consist of the following classes-
-Vintage Mounted (Up to 1959)
-Vintage Trailed (Up to 1959)
-Classic (1960-1976)
-Ferguson Tractor and Ferguson Plough
-Commercial Reversible (Up to 6 furrows)
-Classic Reversible (1960-1976, 2 or 3 furrows)
-Horticultural Tractors and Ploughs
-World Style Conventional
-Un Judged (Ploughing for fun)
This event is for all of the family, and will include catering from Moor Farm and Newborough Young Farmers, a large variety of prizes, as well as lots of hard standing car parking and offloading spaces for both competitors and visitors. All you need to get in is a small donation, and whether you’re interested in farming or not, you really wouldn’t want to miss this event!

The location of the ploughing match will be signposted on nearby roads.
All participants must arrive by 9.15am
This year, both Judged and Un-Judged ploughing will start at 9.30am and will finish at 1.30pm
Both Judged and Un-Judged plots are £15 each, and entry forms have been sent to our mailing list, however if you haven’t received an email, and would like to compete, please email [email protected] for the appropriate entry forms.
