Newbery Medal winner Jerry Craft will visit Upper Arlington on Monday, March 2 for a public talk at 6:30 p.m. in the Performing Arts Center at UA High School, 1625 Zollinger Road.Craft will lead an interactive presentation on his journey from reluctant reader to award-winning author, illustrator and cartoonist. A book signing will follow the presentation, with Cover to Cover onsite to sell books.

Craft’s #1 New York Times bestseller New Kid was awarded the 2020 Newbery Medal. He also wrote Class Act and School Trip, and is the creator of “Mama’s Boyz” — a comic strip which won the African American Literary Award five times. He is a co-founder of the Schomburg Center’s Annual Black Comic Book Festival.
