About this Event
Newark Seen is a powerful photography exhibition presented by Fireworx and St. Clare’s Social Services, featuring the work of over15 emerging local photographers—many of whom are Newark residents navigating housing insecurity.
In a city bursting with visible economic growth, many residents without addresses often feel unseen. Through their eyes and artistry, you’ll witness their journeys in a way few ever have.
These photographs are raw, reflective, and undeniably real—capturing survival, resilience and beauty.
Visitor attendance is framed as an act of civic participation—a public acknowledgment of shared urban citizenship that transcends housing status.
Presented by Fireworx in partnership with St. Clare's Social Services and Artfront Galleries, this exhibition interrogates the gap between Newark's visible economic development and the systemic invisibility of its housing insecure population.
