Although this is a contest, the larger goal is to create opportunities for the community to meet and interact with the officers who protect them. These interactions highlight that the Newark PD and the Newark community are one.
The Trading Card Contest will begin on October 1st, with announcements at City of Newark Elementary Schools and K–5 programs.
“Starter Packs,” consisting of officer cards, contest rule cards, coupons, and more, will be distributed at these initial events. Contestants will then be tasked with collecting the remainder of the officer cards by attending various events over the next 8 weeks, concluding on November 23rd. Several events will feature “Officers of the Day,” where the opportunity to obtain these select officer cards outside of the featured event will be limited (though not impossible).
