The Port Authority of NY and NJ, and New York Blood Center will host ‘The Remembrance through Renewal Blood Drive’ on Blood Drive on Tuesday, September 23, 2025 from 9:00am to 3:30pm at 4 World Trade Center in the 23rd Floor Boardroom. NYBC announced a blood emergency last month due to an alarming drop in blood donations. The region’s blood supply currently stands at a 2-3 day level, which is well below the ideal level of 5-7 days. Hospitals and patients rely upon a steady flow of volunteer donors to receive life-saving donations, but school breaks and summer travel, coupled with a two-year period of almost no youth donations during the pandemic have made blood donation less of a priority.

If you have questions or concerns regarding eligibility, please call (800) 688-0900. NYBC’s Eligibility office is staffed by a Health Practitioner Monday through Friday between 9am and 5pm. Those that are ineligible or those that do not want to donate can still help by spreading the word and recruiting donors.
You must be a current Port Authority employee in order to participate in this event.
