Led by experienced comedian and comedy workshop facilitator Ciaran McMahon, (that's me!) you'll get top tips for creating and building raw material, crafting jokes, then structuring a complete polished set, with top tips for delivery, stage presence, and more.The best part?

Tues 17th February Dublin City Centre - doors 8pm.
Run through first on the night before the doors open.
*This showcase is optional for anyone attending the course, and it crystallises your material and forms a great motivator during the course with a brilliant cathartic pay off at the end, giving you the best start you could have - but if you still feel like sitting it out, thats ok too!
- Learn the skills and put a set together- Write 1-2mins per week. Until you are gig ready for your first 5-7min performance.
- This is ideal for beginners who have never done stand up or for people who might want to write a brand new set.
These progressive workshops begin as a fun creative writers workshop
Gradually it moves into Presentation then Performance.
Test your material every week with feedback - then prepare your first stand up set!
Starter Pack Notes in Advance of Workshop: You receive notes to get you thinking and prepared before the workshop begins. So you know what to expect- Gentle Ideas and themes to write your first 'raw material' before it starts!
Ciaran McMahon : So who is this guy?!
Ciaran at You Talk Funny Comedy Workshops has been teaching workshops in Dublin and abroad for over 15 years. Ciaran has hosted and ran comedy clubs on the Dublin comedy scene for over 20 years - From weekly Improv shows to MCing and stand up - Ciaran has the wisdom of 20 years performance under his belt. From pub gigs to festivals, all the way to the Laughter Lounge and the Olympia Theatre and Edinburgh Fringe! Gigging in Prague, New York, Germany, and even Longford!
With many graduates still performing and rapidly climbing the comedy ladder, Ciarans reputation for a great foundational course goes before him. There are so many past graduates still gigging, doing Edinburgh shows and regularly appearing on stages throughout Ireland and abroad!
A QQI Certified Trainer, Ciaran holds a Masters in Facilitation and Adult Education and is an Assistant Human Dynamics lecturer in TU Dublin.
Regularly gigging, and running clubs, Ciaran has been teaching and performing stand up and improv for over 15years.
