Over the last decade Seattle’s Breaks and Swells have steadily gained notoriety as one of the premier live acts in town. Featuring funk and soul grooves that recall early 70’s Stevie Wonder, Thundercat, and D’Angelo, the band perfectly compliments the frenetic passion of vocalist Marquetta Miller. The power and energy of their performances have convinced even hardened Northwest crowds to dance. Original members Derrick Jones and Dylon Tubb (on drums and guitar, respectively) are joined by Brice Ervin on bass and Noah Goldberg on keys, and a rotating cast of some of the city's finest horn players. In the wake of their self-titled EP and several follow-up singles, Breaks and Swells released their first full-length record "We Will Not Despair" in 2018. The band have made notable appearances at Capitol Hill Block Party, Bumbershoot, Belltown Bloom, and Timber!, and recorded an in-studio at KEXP in 2023 following the release of their sophomore album "Entomology". Breaks and Swells are hard at work on their next record, slated for a 2026 release.

Shady Bottom continues the tradition of Friday night dust shaking & Saturday hip-thrusting from old-school house parties and juke joint jam sessions. Inspired by the sounds and personalities of that threshold era of the late 60s and early 70s, Shady Bottom serves up gritty and gyrating songs for the modern party.
