The season has come when we relentlessly ask ourselves (and each other):
How do I want to enter this new year?
With the numbers on the calendar changing, we get something precious: a clean slate. Sure, it is only symbolic. But as I learned over the years, symbols and rituals have power when we know how to harness it.
This New Year Connection Fire is a chance to start the year with a meaningful ritual and sharing, in community with others. It's a chance for you to affirm your hopes and intentions for the year, as well as voice fears and anxieties.
We will do this in through a lightly facilitated activity that will create an opportunity to connect with others in small groups. Then, there will be time and space for some open sharing around the fire - much like our ancestors would do to mark important transitions.
The overall intention is to start the year with our hearts open for connection, compassion, and courage.
This event is open to anyone, on a donation basis.
Suggested donation is £5-15, based on what you can afford. Please assess for yourself what you're able to give to honour the facilitator's work, energy, and cost of organising the event. Your donation will support Connection Hub in 2025. Thank you!
You can donate via Eventbrite or bring cash on the day.
WHERE? The Salisbury Centre garden, 2 Salisbury Road, EH16 5AB Edinburgh
WHEN? Saturday 11th January 2025, 4-6pm. Feel free to arrive from 3:45 to settle in.
