CARMEN MARDONEZ AND EMMA NEUBERG SHOW & TELL AT OXFORD'S NEW ART GALLERY PROJECTSPACE

Join us for this fun exploration of new artworks by established artists Carmen Mardonez and Emma Neuberg. Carmen and Emma find themselves in a shared studio space in central Oxford, called Makespace, having both developed new light and colour work in Los Angeles during artist residencies there. Both focus on exciting new uses of textiles as forms of painting, portrayal and conscious materiality.

Carmen grew up in Chile while Emma grew up in Greece and the show explores the relationships, overlaps and dissonances of place and light, colour perception and painterly inscriptions. Both artists use textiles as a form of expression, capturing light, texture and feeling in unusual and thrilling ways.

This is the first time the two show together and their evident overlaps can be seen in their respective solo shows at TM Lighting and Brookfield Properties, London.

It's the first public event of the new Oxford Art Gallery Projectspace too, a space that offers a platform for dialogue, scenius and dissemination and expands on Emma's research at the Royal College of Art, her London textiles art incubator, Textiles Hub London, and her public engagement projects in Melanie Lenz's Digital Art department at the V&A.

This event is suitable for everyone. There's an elevator in the building but no ramps, unfortunately, for wheelchair access.
