The New Smyrna Beach City Commission consists of a popularly elected mayor and four zone commissioners representing different neighborhoods throughout the city and is responsible for legislative functions such as establishing policy, passing ordinances, adopting regulations, and developing an overall vision for the city.Regular meetings are held on the 2nd and 4th Tuesday of each month at 6:30 p.m., except during a summer recess in July.
The floor opens for public participation shortly after each meeting begins in the James W. Hathaway Commission Chambers located at 214 Sams Ave.
