The Nest Welcomes Lorie Siegel to help you Discover the Thrill of Mah Jongg!
Join us at the Nest for a fun, hands-on introduction to the timeless game of Mah Jongg! In this engaging class, you’ll go from beginner to confident player—ready to enjoy full games by the final session.
Sign Up/Pay Once - Attend a Total of (5) Classes
In the first two classes, you’ll get familiar with the tiles and learn how to read and use the official Mah Jongg card to build winning hands. By sessions three and four, we’ll dive into game procedures, strategy, and essential rules. Then in our fifth and final class, you’ll put it all together and play a full game with expert guidance and support.
Whether you're new to the game or just need a refresher, this class will have you shuffling, matching, and calling “Mah Jongg!” in no time!

Meet Your Instructor: Lorie Siegel
As a former public school English as a New Language (ENL) teacher and a longtime Mah Jongg enthusiast, Lorie Siegel brings together her two greatest passions—teaching and Mah Jongg—to offer a uniquely effective and enjoyable learning experience.
Drawing on her deep understanding of how people learn, Lorie has developed a clear, accessible, and engaging method for teaching the game. Her classes are not only informative but also fun and welcoming for all players.
Lorie has successfully taught hundreds of players across Long Island, leading sessions at libraries, community clubs, and the Main Street Board Game Café in Huntington. Her students consistently praise her clarity, patience, and enthusiasm—making her classes a standout choice for learning Mah Jongg.
