About this Event

Eventbrite registration is not necessary, please register here: https://www.britsoc.co.uk/events/key-bsa-events/new-perspectives-on-postgraduate-research-and-future-career-pathways/
No matter what stage of your PhD journey you're in, there's a good chance you are (like the rest of us) feeling a bit lost and disheartened about the future at times. We wanted to organise a day to come together, meet each other and start to feel optimistic about future directions in our careers and research.
This event will take place in the Elm Bank building at Coventry University (a 10 minute walk from the Coventry rail station) from 10:00am-4:30pm on March 28th. Lunch and snacks will be provided.
We will gather so that we can exchange ideas and find collaborative ways of imagining a future in and outside of academia. The event will include a hands-on zine-making workshop encouraging PGRs to see their research through new, accessible perspectives, opportunities for presenting and discussing their works- in-progress, and a panel of PhD graduates working in diverse fields who will lead a brainstorming Q&A session on potential career paths within and outside of academia.
This event is free to attend but registration is required at this link. The organisers can cover traveling expenses for a small group of participants. Please email us and we will be happy to assist you in this matter:
The event will take place in the Kestral and Goldfinch rooms in the Elm Bank building (Elm Bank, Mile Ln, Coventry CV1 2LY). The room is on the ground floor and we will have someone at the main entrance and signs in the building to make sure everyone finds their way there. Please email us at any point if you have any questions or concerns.
