(((FINAL FRIDAYS))) New Paintings by Sue Ashline and Music by Jackson Graham!Statement
When I begin a painting, I try to empty my mind as much as possible, making purely intuitive decisions. Obviously color is important. Then I react to what I have put down in the beginning. Some of these responses are deliberate and some are visceral.
I have never been interested in painting landscapes - they’ve always seemed impossible to capture. But some of the pieces in this grouping have turned into landscapes, not from life, but out of my head - my own idea of beauty. Some have to do with the edge of the sea.
