Shrine for the Haunted Tune is an assemblage workshop in New Orleans devoted to building a visual song from discarded instruments—broken trumpets, battered banjos, violin husks, piano keys—retuned not to play, but to speak. In a city where even silence carries a rhythm, we’ll transform these musical relics into sculptural shrines: altar meets jukebox, music you can see and maybe feel. Between studio days, junking, ghost stories, Frenchmen Street jazz, and a swamp tour send-off, we’ll work inside that space where melody, memory, and the spirit world overlap—because in New Orleans, music never dies, it just changes key. 🎺👻May 6 to 13, 2026
Your hosts are the Reverend of Rusty Things, Michael deMeng, your workshop instructor, as well as Mija Matriz and Jon Labrousse, your devoted organizers.
