About this Event

Hi there!
Have you ever been to a sound bath or found yourself interested in getting into meditation? If yes, then why not give this New Moon Gong Bath a try? Way back when, it was the sounds of the gong that got me into meditation and helped me access other realms of consciousness or self-healing with ease.
Likewise, if you are an 'experienced sound bath coinasseur' - come along, too. The sonics of the gong are great if you wish to just find a way to relax, mediate more deeply, or find inspiration from within. At its baseline, it's a fantastic way to 'reset' our autonomic nervous system and get out of our sometimes chronic fight /flight / freeze states.
What you can expect:
In my experience, no gong bath is ever the same. The sound waves can lead you into gentle states of sleep and relaxation. The vibrations of the gong can also set off the experiencing of lucid dreamworlds or wonderful states of lightness. Equally, the sounds can be emotionally evocative and feel like a cathartically felt purge of 'stuffy energies' that have been pent up for a while.
Sounds baths are also known to induce alpha and theta brainwave states, which can lead to vivid insights or the emergence of subconsciously held beliefs and feelings.
On a physical level, the sound vibrations are very effective in loosening tense (energetic) 'knots'. As human beings, a large percentage of our bodies consist of water* ... with this in mind - this is what happens to water when sound frequencies meet it.
No prior knowledge or belief is required for a sound bath to be effective and meaningful. Some people just find rest through it and maybe even fall asleep. This can be refreshingly soothing in a world that can lead to overthinking and rushing.
Others might experience initial tension and discomfort, or the emergence of long-suppressed feelings... But that's a helpful thing, too. As you might have heard people say: Sometimes you have to 'feel it to heal it'.
With that in mind, the sound experience itself can be a very fertile, harmonising, and enriching one.
If this still leaves you with questions - feel free to message me. I am always happy to answer any queries about the process or event timings.
What to bring:
- A Yoga mat, or portable form of bedding to comfortably lie on (e.g. an extra blanket).
- Water to hydrate before and after
- A comfortable pillow and blanket (temperatures tend to drop during the sound bath)
Please note that sound baths are not recommended for people with pacemakers or during the first trimester of pregnancy. If you have questions about the suitability of this event feel free to message me.
You will be asked to turn your phone off completely during the sound bath session.
Aftercare:
Taking it easy, resting and slowing down is recommended after.
I particularly recommend an bath for at least 20mins after the gong bath has taken place to further relaxation.
I also offer debriefs and 'change through conversation' sessions for people who would like to explore gong bath-induced reflections, questions or insights after on a deeper level. Just book an 'initial consultation' via my website to get started.

About Me:
My name is Vera and I am a London-based Sensorimotor Psychotherapist, Sound Practitioner, and Change Facilitator with over 10 years of experience in group facilitation and a variety of therapies. I am passionate about creating environments in which people can engage with their own forms of change and well-being.
This year I founded Perspective Unplugged , combining all that I have learned over the last decade into a new holistic coaching modality called Change Facilitation.
Vera's Salon is my way of hopefully making great therapeutic tools, experiences, and knowledge pockets more easily accessible and affordable for the wider public. It is also intended to bring people together in times that increasingly make in-person contact and community experiences a rarer occurrence.
